Green pili pili chilli, is a popular Madagascar chilli also called “bird tongue”, even though green, it is less strong than its orange cousin, green pili pili chilli remains a hot pepper.
In the large chilli family, the pili-pili is one of the smallest chillies in the Capsicum genus of the Solanaceae family, but don't be fooled by its size, it is quite powerful
Despite its fresh colour; this pepper has a warm smell, reminiscent of dried tomatoes. It is gourmand, sweet with notes of cocoa and a surprising hint of green asparagus.
To begin with, it may seem difficult to judge how much to use, but once you have experimented with it, it soon becomes a crucial ingredient.
It can be found sun-dried following a traditional way on raffia mats after being harvested.
It is often used fresh to make a spicy hot tasty paste.
Fresh or dried these little spicy friends can enhance every exotic dish!
One of my favourite's chillies due to its aromatic flavor profile!
